That's interesting. What system is your imx8 running? What's the output of `blkid` (without parameters) does it show information for any device?

Both those devices are the system partitions, right? So when you plug a new removable device it doesn't show at all as a new entry in `blkid`? What about `/etc/blkid/blkid.tab`?...
