Any updates on this one? Issue is still present in 3.14.22 and after updating to Plasma 6.1. Quite anoying as it's making Star Citizen uplayable in Wayland and with HDR....

No sorry, HDR doesnt affect whether the issue happens or not, but its the reason I want to run Star Citizen in gamescope. I think you may be right in...
I believe the underlying bug is this one: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484797 however older versions of gamescope would be able to get around the issue by using --force-grab-cursor. Newer versions don't.
