@jonahweissman Can you try out the `simple_evsync` branch? It is a bit more intelligent about when to process events. Also I added a @profile decorator so we can get line-by-line...

I made a bit of progress debugging this problem on Windows: https://github.com/paramiko/paramiko/issues/1801 It may be related.

Are these issues still present in `7.0.1`?

Both the `nyt` and `nyt-hq` services are working fine for me.

This should be fixed in 7.1.0

Have you tried it with the `--evdev` option?

Is this on Wayland? `--evdev` only works on X11 right now.
