This bug also occurs for me. But only with Wayland sessions (I'm using KDE Plasma) X11 sessions shut down normally.

Smooth Boot is no longer needed in 1.20 See https://modrinth.com/mod/smoothboot-fabric

Same with v1.12.0 on Arch Linux
