New feature/suggestion: Water barrels
What if we added a water barrel 'item' that will be filled with water over time. This barrel could then be placed in bases to collect rain.
The water should of course be boiled before use and it should have the same logic as the matches, i.e. X uses before it's empty and needs refilling again.
The barrel 'object' i have in mind is the blue one that spawns in infected camps. I think this would make a nice addition to the whole survival aspect and make base building in remote areas more attractive.
i have a plan along these lines already. :-) thanks
Sounds great, We were discussing the implications of being able to build a well earlier today but perhaps something like this is a bit more reasonable
Sounds great, but why would it need to be boiled? Should be perfectly fine and filtered rain water.

heh; awesome R4Z0R
Oh no! My character that has been alive for 1215 days now has a 3% increased chance of cancer.
Just kidding the longest character I've had was 20 days and my character fears bandits; cancer would be a sweet angel of death compared to some of those psychopaths [weeps into open water barrel]
Very cool but yes; boil required please. Water Barrels go stagnant, animals, flies, bandits with bottles covered with blood... all infect it with yuck.
Not to mention why there is only zombies around infected camps where there in fact is a barrel that obviously is empty. They must have drunk it all and... well, gotten infected and died? ;-)
I guess if you let it sit open for a day or two, but for the most part if you seal it, it should be relitively fine. If we are talking about the radioactive chemicals, then boiling it would not do a whole lot as it is not a organic creature. From a balance standpoint though, yeah you should probably make it require a boil.
While on the subject of water barrels, can we make the blue barrels found at survivor camps be usable. Right now they are static objects but it would be nice to fill bottles and drink from these too.

Actually, sorta wierd but, the barrels are not static. I hit them with a hatchet a while back and they had "physics." PHYSICS, in Arma, what has this world come to? It is N64 physics, but physics none the less. I think the bench or something else at the camp had "physics" too.
Believe it or not Arma does indeed have physics simulation. Kind of a prerequisite for vehicles really. Is there a problem with the water barrel physics?
If that's the case, water barrels that contain water will become stagnant over time which will cause parasites to possibly infect the water unless you could have it covered :)
This is great idea!
