Happy to close this, the arguments against are solid.
There's a bug for this in tough-cookie: https://github.com/salesforce/tough-cookie/issues/455. It looks like they've merged a change to fix it, but that hasn't been released yet: https://github.com/salesforce/tough-cookie/pull/457
We got feedback about a case of this on a service we have which uses the autocomplete. In our case it was noticed when using a 'change your answers' journey...
