Bots keep timing out/disconnecting

I'm running Stresscraft with the following arguments: localhost 25565 -c 5 -d 1 -b 10 -p Bot (they don't seem to matter, even with only the host ip specified it still does nothing) the server has been configured according to the README file. the server software is https://github.com/Winds-Studio/Leaf

It goes as follows:

1. UUID of player X is ....
2. (30 seconds pass)
3. X (/127.0.0.1:ZZZZZ) lost connection: Timed out/Disconnected
