Please check if #355 fixes this issue first, that would be the preferred fix to lowering the M.CA.C version.
Thanks for this feature request, it seems valid and I will implement it. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I won't be able to do so for some time.
Even if I did that, the package would still target `netstandard2.0`, which would make it unusable for .NET Framework 4.0, correct?
