As mentioned, we have been in contact with VRChat and they are working on it. Hopefully this will get fixed in the next update.

Its on our to-do list :) It will most likely be some quirk of ordering where the play signal is lost due to the application being put into the background....

Does the file play on android devices either on their own video player or on Unity's videoplayer?
