Seems that there isn't a way to filter NSFW content. Maybe is possible change "Allow NSFW content" to "Allow NSFW content and sources" and add it
Also if it is possible I suggest also to write in the app “searching in other sources” (with a spinner) when doing that

This issue but maybe mimic the network flows can solve both the problem

Do you have Rosetta 2 installed? Tray to lunch the app with terminal: `/Applications/NineAnimator.app/Contents/MacOS/NineAnimator`
Try to select "open with rosetta" on the preference of NineAnimator.app
Also, you are using the Nightly version or the realest version? If the release try to use the nightly version
