Long time ago I use [https://github.com/Kitt-AI/snowboy](url) to trigger push-to-talk (c++ ver) on Rasp pi zero. Look like it's the only working option right now.
For me work fine on clean install of 2020-05-27-raspios-buster-armhf.img.
