Feature request: ADSB Proximity notification

Open thespova opened this issue 1 month ago • 3 comments

It would be awesome if there some alerting on the GCS based on its own GPS location and the aircraft location to let you know when there was traffic detected in a configurable proximity separately configurable for alt and horizontal distance to the UAS or GCS.

Even a non configurable option to just add a check box to the voice options to warn when traffic is detected within a fixed distance or a couple check boxes for a couple different distances.

A more complicated version of this would possibly be able to predict trajectory of other aircraft and deconflict with missions and stuff but that seems a lot more complicated for not a lot of realistic benefit.

To be clear here I'm talking about GCS that have an adsB feed. Not aircraft with their own adsB systems and what ever avoid those use. I have no idea how it works on the aircraft but I have a adsB receiver setting iv been building and customizing for fpv that I have setup to feed mission planner now.

MP can process ADSB feed, go to config and select ADSB checkbox. Then you can add the url for your feed. (If you using local receiver, you can run https://github.com/MalcolmRobb/dump1090 to provide the right feed. Then MP sends the ADSB data to the vehicle, where you can configure the necessary avoidance. https://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-ads-b-receiver.html Then the vehicle can act and send the warning when it is relevant.

Thanks, I am aware. I specifically said I am not talking about doing it that way. This enhancement request is meant for a ground station to be able to create an audible alarm, even when not connected to UAS.
