Definitely a bug still, definitely worth fixing.

In your error message, the `@gedmo` is lowercase. Is that the actual error message? PHP is case-sensitive with namespaces and class names.

I agree that there is an opportunity for a better solution, since this is a pretty common scenario. TL;DR: I don't think we can make this work without breaking changes...
