CotEditorの現状のシンタックス解釈は正直なところ文字列とコメントの取り合い部分が弱く、特にPHPのようにコメント記号や文字列記法が複数あるものに対応できていないのが、現状です。 もちろんこれは修正されるべきなのですが、大掛かりな変更が必要なためすぐに手を出せずにいます。 申し訳ないですがご了承ください。将来的には善処します。
なるほど Ruby は `$'` と `$"` というのがあるんですね。 ちゃんとカラーリングされるよう善処してみます。
