Will this be using Laravel echo?

I disagree with this. As @Stefan-ST has previously said a lot of useful javascript scripts rely on jQuery.

I agree with removing this is makes it unnecessarily complex, when has there even been a problem with writing standard HTML?

I'd strongly suggest using Vue or Angular they're both extremely strong frameworks with lots of documentation and a good development team behind them.
