Not sure how this interacted with the change, but the Vensim dll doesn't parse mdl format; it requires a packaged model (vpm/vpmx) which you can publish from the File menu.

It appears that NetCDF has its own license, which looks like BSD or MIT (no restriction other than credit), which is good.
