That suggests that something to do with our [handle_message](https://github.com/IRkernel/IRkernel/blob/abb7528226aa072db80d92f2f3c6424071db77dd/R/execution.r#L178-L180) function is going wrong.

I think something like that is what generates the recordedplot object already. I'm not confident we'd come up with something better than the mechanism already in evaluate.
