We do this very different in Vespucci than in JOSM, icons are defined via the presets and used for preset selection which is independent from the rendering of linear features....

IMHO a "shop" is fairly distinct from a facility which doesn't have an on street "showroom" or similar (think a tailor that operates out of their home on appointment only).
