I've encountered similar issues, although rarely, where trunk continues to run after shell kill, and requires a process kill. I don't know if this is on my top priority list...

Excellent write-up. Generally I agree, but I'm afraid the maintainer group doesn't have the bandwidth to implement this right now. PRs are welcome though. :)

Hey @paulalesius - This is getting stale. Do you mind finishing the request from Dodd? Otherwise I may try to salvage this work, or it could get closed.

Stale? Do we still want this? If so, I can fork this and try to fix the tests.

I also favor `trunk-` over `data-`.
