Why does this need to be an option? It seems like we can default to this . behavior?

This is a breaking change, since it will dirty everyone’s Podfile.lock that contains a pod that is using the default

I reccomend using a [Gemfile](http://bundler.io/v1.16/#getting-started), or running `gem build NAME.gemspec && gem install pkg/NAME-VERSION.gemspec`
