I found that the pushbuttons cannot go across the gap in the breadboard. Put all connectors and the pushbuttons on one side of the breadboard and it will work fine.
I have found that I need to put in a short delay (10 ms works for me) after the potentiometer read for this to work correctly.
SOLVED! page 40 (Listing 2-5) - "if (last != current)". I understand the use of the function but I cannot figure out where the program is finding the "last" from....
I'm learning plenty and really enjoying the book, even lest printed code, would be an improvement. it's just wasted space in the main. Servos obviously has a range of meanings...
