Some people say it helps because VAC can look/scan the USN Journal on your system drive. Therefore people are putting the cheats on USB drives and such. Not sure how...

Thanks for the information and the help so far. There's two interesting licenses that I will look more into, the MIT and Common Clause license.

If it's an result of Windows Defender killing the process attempting to modify these values/keys its not easy for us to detect unless we run a separate process to watch...
