`supybot.directories.log` is also used by plugins that don't log to stdout. You can set `supybot.log.level CRITICAL` if you want to keep `messages.log` mostly empty, though.

The RSS plugin works with Python 3 (as well as all other plugins provided with Limnoria). Please list here other plugins that don't work with Python 3

No problem. It's not documented, so I finally got to dump that info out of my brain :)

You should be abl to use `$author` in `plugins.RSS.format` or `plugins.RSS.announceFormat`
