I was able to resolve this issue by reverting to node 14. Is anyone familiar with what work would be required to get this up-to-date with node v16?

@smolak could you share your solution? Good call-out. I'm guessing in most cases, a responsive color isn't necessary, so this workaround seems like an okay compromise.
