In that case I would suggest using `scalacheck-shapeless` instead of `shapeless-contrib`. The former is actively maintained, the latter isn't (I'll merge PRs, but won't fix problems myself).
@nevillelyh Thanks for reporting it anyway. I'll leave it open so that prospective users see immediately that they should prefer `scalacheck-shapeless`
Just ran into the same problem. Should be easy enough to fix with a PR (will try to do that).
[This is the cause](https://github.com/sbt/sbt/blob/v0.13.13/main/actions/src/main/scala/sbt/Package.scala#L95) of the problem: ```scala def makeJar(sources: Seq[(File, String)], jar: File, manifest: Manifest, log: Logger): Unit = { log.info("Packaging " + jar.getAbsolutePath + " ...") IO.delete(jar) log.debug(sourcesDebugString(sources))...
Would a maintainer mind closing this? (Poke @eed3si9n) This is fixed in an upcoming SBT release, by virtue of sbt/sbt#3014.
@ryan-williams It is sufficient to update sbt, yes. No upgrade of the plugin required.
This might happen in more situations than outlined above ... my workaround to not construct `Span`s with an empty list doesn't prevent the problem.
FWIW, I've confirmed this works fine in `minitest`, but only because we don't depend on the macros.
