@akindone, thank you for the sample! I've been able to reproduce this on stable, but not on master, which would seem that maybe some of the PRs were not cherry-picked.

This doesn't seem to be related to partial repaint, at least not directly. But if even one frame fails to rasterize like this it will cause flicker when flipping buffers...
