But this solution breaks multiple stack saved states and whenever we select any bottom nav item, start destination opens instead of last fragment that was there (state is not saved)...

Unfortunately, this is a required usecase for my application. I tried using deeplinks for navigation but then faced this [issue that I reported on issue tracker](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/214680379). :(

please migrate to mavencentral as jcenter will be shutting down soon and is at the end of life. Android studio also shows a warning now.

I don't think the developer is active anymore. You may choose to fork the library in your project if you intend to use this further. In any case, this lib...
