RPi.GPIO is over 3 years old with no updates. The community needs another well maintained library. I personally use https://pypi.org/project/rpi-hardware-pwm/ which works well and has a simple implementation.

I had already started work on this, and no I did not use that function, but typing.get_type_hints instead.
