Fundamentally, the issue is that > search term is lost when selecting a result line. Keeping this alive somehow is an 80% solution.

I think just updating our file and or folder icon to be more distinct solves 99% of this without any of the complexity of custom colors etc

Settings -> other -> share into format. It supports date interpolation and text positioning. @tauren Please check this out and confirm that it works as expected.

There may be bugs in the implementation. I plan to look into this soon

Fyi, there was a bug. It's fixed in #1937. It'll take a little while before this gets merged and pushed out into a release.

One can create a shortcut to any file or folder from the file explorer. Not sure why the option in share went away.

Note: Currently it is a bit painful to add a new format. I have plans to simplify this - move all the functionality into the Format Registry instead of spread...

What is the expected behavior here? Is this just for keyboard suggestions or does it extend to pulling suggested searches from Google?

I have traced this bug. We pass a callback into the NewFileDialog to be triggered when the dialog completes. Upon rotation, the dialog is recreated and the callback is invalidated....
