Using python 3.7.0 gets it installed.

There are multiple issues: numpy.distutils been depreciated ( says to use setuptools

I am also getting similar error, though i haven't tried on older py versions. have you tried using VS Code 2019 ? i did some differences in the features provided....

works with python 3.7.0. 

UPDATE I ran into same issue again when using the latest version. the issue was with the import so i tried debugging.  using this i got the error msg...

I am completely new to this and was looking for solution for a while before finding this issue here. i checked the scenes provided by @TLA-Games and all worked fine...
