Ran into the same issue as well today. Manually adding an empty dir for the k8s web deployment for `/var/log/` allowed us to deactivate the feature again.

@Lucretius The repository is stale since 2021 - are you planning on updating or enhancing it with PR's like this at all?

That's correct. Maybe just create the secret initially and if present skip the creation?
