Thanks, that is what I was looking for, I just turned that on and it worked as expected. There was another issue, but I'll open another issue for that.

Not needed in this plugin, can be added through http://ring-clojure.github.io/ring/ring.middleware.not-modified.html.

https://github.com/gohugoio/hugo/issues/4242 is an issue proposing a solution to this.

I'm not sure exactly when this was fixed, but we updated to 36.5.0 and this issue wasn't present anymore (no iFrame hacks needed).
