I had timeout issues with another spectrometer model with pyseabreeze when using a cheap and long USB cable. Switching to a higher quality USB cable fixed it for me.

I have the same exact behavior after upgrading to Fedora 39 (Gnome 45). It was working fine right before upgrading.

I think it should definitely inherits from Exception rather than BaseException. It causes issues on our side because we want to just catch Exception error and not catch BaseException errors...
