The proposed workarounds using `` don't work in places like Gitlab wiki. Please fix.

My issue is on Gitlab so it's not fixed for me. :(

That doesn't work where you have no control over CSS, like on Gitlab Wikis.

I agree with VianneyMI and am having the same issue. Since I'm also using mypy, lying about the type by giving it a default of None and not annotating them...
