Ahh, thunderbird(1) not only it adds a References; it adds both References and In-Reply-To, so it's just like a reply regarding these headers.

If you're interested in testing some patches that do gzip, there's #914 It would be interesting to see testing on real world workloads and connections, and not just my localhost...

I wonder why (some) lists inject a signature, instead of adding a header field. By adding a header field, they wouldn't be destructive to the message, and wouldn't cause problems...

Does your university add "[External Email]" to the body or to the Subject? If it's done on the subject, I hope they do it only on the unprotected subject. If...
