I imagine in the early days of the project a lot of naive windows users questioned the legality of it, as if it was pirating or something since XChat cost...
I think this should be done by appcenter rather than by the app itself. Otherwise you just get software constantly pestering you to be the default.

I don't think we need to discuss the politics of it. I think changing the screenshot is reasonable whenever somebody has the time to do it. PR's welcomed too.
