I have figured it out, the Linux client recognizes not only mwheeldown/up as for scroll wheel input but also mouse4/5, bind them using console and it should be fine

This is also happening to me too, it seems to happen randomly at times. I haven't give disabling voice communication a try yet tho, will see how it goes.
