I see, looks like the bug in ExoPlayer still exists - or we're using it incorrectly. Need to investigate.
#1 should be fixed or is a duplicate of #252, #2 is a duplicate of #587.
We're mostly waiting for [this VLC issue](https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc-android/-/issues/1904) to be fixed, otherwise we can't supply external subtitles from the server.
It looks like it's primarily caused by the websocket disconnect. We should probably ignore that event instead of going to the connect screen.
ExoPlayer now supports manually applied bitrate limits through the quality selector. The user provided limits will be supported in the future.
Unfortunately not. I'm still in the middle of the player UI rewrite without much progress recently since I have been pretty busy.
I can't reproduce the issue you describe on both the integrated player and the web player, thus I'm closing this PR.
Should be fixed since 2.5.0.
