Probably not possible until there's a fully native app. Currently, the Android Auto integration uses a completely separate (native) player, while the app itself plays audio within the web app...

I just tested 0.9.12 on Linux and playback reporting still seems to be broken. It does correctly scrobble the current track, but they are never properly reported as stopped. And...
