I'm on X too, and pgtk nativecomp. I don't know if I'd call it a regression.. since it didn't work at all

Hmm, another bit of Emacs code everyone is afraid to touch :D, I think that XEmbed is the way to go. I imagine it shouldn't be that hard to do...

For number 2 you realistically need PGTK, XEmbed is buggy af, and PGTK is the way to go.

I'm having this issue too, for me emacs doesn't load properly even without --debug-init

I'm hitting something similar, if I set `region` in the job spec to a non-local region, the provider will hit the `inconsistent result` error. Imo it's because it doesn't check...
