+1 I asked for this over on the uBlock Origin repo and was denied. Hopefully it will be implemented here.

@snapy Not only is it more obscure, it no longer works as a 'disable' feature due to strict blocking. Sites will still be blocked at the top level.

Interesting ideas, as long as there is no performance impact.

Downloading from Google fonts is probably the most rampant. At the same time, there are a few other common font CDN's that can be included as well.

I've been testing the idea proposed in the above comment, and so far, it is working quite well.
