28e7e65566ca20b047197f9222e106246f43f894 breaks my build on Ubuntu 14.04 as well. I believe rather than explicitly breaking the build on Linux (and OSX?) systems, hacking around EasyWinBuilder's issues is the correct solution....

I've tried to reproduce it again, it's still failing the vast majority of the time, but I did have a string of ~4 successes searching for "nvk" and 1 search...

This still happens pretty regularly for me, I don't know if you've been able to reproduce it yet. Happy to give any info I can to help you reproduce it.
