I don't use appveyor myself. It is more relevant for SQLAlchemy where we can use it to produce C builds on windows, but over there, working with a contributor, I last was not able to get it working the way I wanted. For Mako I'm not really sure why we need an appveyor script committed as part of the repo. I can certainly do without more hardcoded Python version numbers in a file.
