Multilingual support for different URLs of the same article is a bit clunky

For instance, the page /en/about could have an equivalent counter part /fr/a-propos, but using the language menu down at the bottom, it's not possible to go from one page to the other even though one configures Hugo aliases. Is this an issue with the template or with my usage of it?

Hi,

I have exactly the same behavior. This is normal. Currently I will not tell you why. I suppose that the pattern is hardcoded the way it expect the same names in language directories to work the way you expect.

See my sysadmin-info.netlify.app and you will see the same problem.

If I will figure out how to solve it, will make another comment with the solution.
