Resized slideshow box will not center within column [moved]

<b>What steps will reproduce the problem?</b>
1.Added #featured-slideshow   { width: 300px !important; border:  none;  position: relative;  }
featured-article  { display:block; height:420px; text-decoration:none !important;  width:300px; }

2. Change slideshow thumbnail size to 300px wide by 420 high.

<b>What is the expected output? What do you see instead?</b>
The output is as expected - a movie poster sized slideshow area.  The problem is that it is positioned to the left of the column, but I would like it centered.  

<b>What versions of WordPress and Arras Theme are you using?</b>
WP 3.1, Arras 1.5.0.1

I made changes to the position statement within both the #featured-slideshow and featured-article areas.  Nothing seemed to make a difference.
