Provide template issues, template requests and profiles

Open abetusk opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

There are a lot of steps proposed to get started (write an issue, issue a PR, optionally create a profile). To help facilitate onboarding, it probably would be helpful to provide a template issue, pull request and user profile.

Providing a template for the issues and pull requests would also allow you to easily separate the issue-as-a-reading-group-request and any "real" issues.

Also considering 'tagging' issues with whether they are 'reading group request' or an actual issue.

Great idea, I just did this yesterday and figured I'd see if someone was brave enough to start, thank you for that btw! :)

You are right that it's a bit complicated, I figured people who'd be interested in reading CS would also be interested in playing some kind of game around how things are organized.. so I wanted to give people some room to come up with their own interpretation of the rules.

If we manage to go through the whole process and do a meeting then these templates will emerge organically (that is at least the idea).

Thank you for experimenting with this! I think it's a neat idea.

I think you're right, that a "pilot" reading group will flesh out the whole process, even if it's just a suggestion. To begin with, I would suggest at least making a template issue for "reading paper" so that for people wanting to start, it's as easy as filling out the template issue.
