Required leading space between two mentions

Has anyone figured out how to require leading space between two mentions in contenteditable div? I've set "requireLeadingSpace" option to true and it works for normal text. But when I add a mention and try to add another mention after it (without space in between) it allows it. Does anyone have a solution for that by any chance? Thanks
