support for *.py in extension and "run" (python %1)
Hi,
i start with programming in python and have become with to be the code highlighting support existent, so why not support python files if they have .py extension.
need only add the recognition from *.py extension need only at "Run" if open a .py script in WinNT "python %1" by a *.py file
then is notepad2 also an python editor and is more used like i think...
and by "Run/Execute Button" let popopen a "log Window" for see the errors if there gives/exist errors :)

(by the way, rename this project is *imho* "Bs" because the well known name is then away.. and i want no more use the new named editor, it exist enough other editors with thyre names.. the "notepad2" is a recognition value and a a well-known brand from Florian .. i be coming back already from notepad2-mod and notepad3 .. i am leave not notepad2 any more.. it's a bad idea with this renaming.. :\ )
SciTE has these (custom external programs, read stdout for external programs) functionalities.
SciTE .... ? want you to be notepad2 used or not ? Well, i would not an bringer of ideas refer to another program .... if notepad2 support it, be it more reasons to using more notepad2 ...
and by the way if you start a cmd-session for *.cmd files or a *.bat file, it's imho also nothing else as start a external program .. and i guess, not more enhanced as let run a *.cmd or a *.bat program via shortcut/button but it's just a *.py file with python.exe as interpreter and not cmd, exe, so should it be relative easy to add by side of the code of cmd.exe/command.com the python.exe to use it in Win7 or Win11 and upward.
!Make notepad2 great again! (*giggle*) :D best Blacky
