Hi, suggestion, make it able to setting up the Notepad2 as the System/default-notepad with one Single Klick in the Menu under the Settings, maybe with a small Checkbox who be in able to checked and unchecked. Like i know it's just a thing of Reg-string to replace the notepad.exe as exe and editor. Therewith it is also possible to put the n2 on the //network/folder/over/samba/notepad2/notepad2.exe and it's not need to put it on the systemdisk or local on the computer :) Or in a subfolder of Totalcommander and can call via icon in menu and set up for the system.. some so things :) best regards Blacky

Notepad2 will not do any dangerous operations like change user's registry, access Internet, etc. I closed this as won't fix.

access internet, this is a access over samba in the internal Network.. oh man..

access over samba is done by Windows systems, for application it's same as access another local drive.

well, a commandline option would be nice because it could compress with a Compressor and make a install-sfx-package with it .. like with Winrar or other sfx compressor..

as example "/replace" or "/unreplace" would maybe a option

Command line option seems not useful: system integration requires administrator privilege.

@zufuliu well, by an unattended install exist automagically admin rights if you let install programs in $OEM folder of the WinNT-Installmedium like usb, selfcreated iso or other installmedias.

by the way it is also possible for open an admin-console, the same works also with admin privilegs in Objects (commercial way) by Administrate a Workstation-farm over network , there would it be nice if exist for the admins some possibilitys for replacing notepad by install with a 7z-sfx with these "/replace" switches. And remove the replace over network "/unreplace"

this switches be also helpful, also for a better distributing notepad2 ;)
