FR: button(s) to use modifier keys
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I wonder this topic didn't pop up yet, haven't found any discussion or topic about it. I really enjoy using the excalidraw plugin and it's a game changer for me. But I often find myself switching between ipad and laptop because on the ipad some functions are a bit cumbersome.
There are functions which use ctrl, shift or cmd. Eg draw a perfect circle, select multiple objects with clicking, scaling from the middle, ...
On the ipad version there's imo no way to properly use all the features because of lack of modifier keys.
Describe the solution you'd like
Add buttons to use modifier keys. Holding the finger on it to activate it or double tap to toggle it. The buttons for shift, cmd, and ctrl could be part of the tool palette or additional icons near the duplicate or delete button.
Real-life usage scenarios
all on the ipad version: 2. draw a perfect circle (not an ellipse) 3. resize or draw an object from the center 4. select multiple objects where a lasso or rectangle to select is not possible (because of too many / too close objects) 5. ...
Describe alternatives you've considered
- using the plugin "set dimensions" for a circle is possible, but of course not as fast and smooth
- switching between ipad and laptop with syncing
Additional context
as said, Ipad version
I've also lately wondered whether there is an iPad-only solution to all of the hotkeys available. You can't use the iPad's Magic Keyboard (if you have one) while drawing in tablet-mode; yesterday, I paired an external keyboard while the iPad laid flat on the table. Not the sleekest solution. Scribble Helper solves the text input part of this experience... but what other features are trapped behind the keebwall?
Tap/hold gestures are indispensable within Procreate and other pencil-heavy apps. One avenue.
A related item would be further support for the Apple Pencil. I do not believe the pencil pro's squeeze-for-options-palette has been implemented.
I'm sure I'm ignorant of some options not yet uncovered (and all barriers to further implementations). But I agree with the sentiment.

I personally use this gadget to map the keys: Ctrl, shift, etc

Cute and innovative! But not something I want to carry around. I’d like a tablet/pencil only experience, keeping jotting and drawing streamlined to the device at hand—frictionless.
